Happy Holidays
Wishing all my fellow crafters a great holiday. It will be nice to get back to my crafting after Christmas. I've taken a long break and now my inventory is low! I've got lots of work to do but am looking forward to creating again.

Top rated power seller status!!
Wow, I couldn't believe it when ebay gave me my power seller status yesterday. I am very happy and proud of my hard work.
I know that power selling status can be a fleeting thing on ebay so I won't hang my hat on it but, for today it feels great!
It was so nice to see the top rated seller badge beside my items on ebay's search! Now I have to strive to maintain it as long as I can!!
I'd better get busy..........really busy!!

Busy Christmas time

Hi all, I have been busy making my holiday prims. Today I will finish my primitive wooden sled centerpiece. It's so nice. The holiday rush is on and I know so many crafters are a buzzin' right now. I wish there was a place where we could all meet up, have coffee, and craft together all day.
Sometimes I get lonely in my little craft room in the basement and it would be so nice to sit and chat while creating my lovelys.
Well, it's off for one more cup of Joe! Good day all and happy crafting!!

Primitive craft labels
Recently I've wanted to include vintage and primitive labels on many of my items. I have made a few of my own but I have found a place to buy some really nice ready made labels. It saves me time and I have not perfected the making of the labels yet. This is the site:

If anyone knows of an easy way to make your own primitive looking labels and would like to share your technique with me, I would really appreciate it. I like the aged looking labels with old thyme sayings for pantry, laundry, and needful items. Until I figure it all out though I thought I would share this site with you too~ Here's a nice sample of what she sells.

Distressing wood for a primitive look
DISTRESSING WOOD FOR A PRIMITIVE LOOK
Distressing is one of the most effective and easiest ways to age furniture or a painted piece. You can make your piece look like it has been around for years with a very simple technique using candle wax. I prefer using beeswax candles for this but any white candle may be used.
First decide if you want the finished piece to look like a piece that has been painted many times over, if so you will need to paint two colors. If you wish the finish piece to be bare wood where rubbed off you will only need to do a topcoat.
Sand the entire piece with a fine grade sandpaper and wipe with a tack cloth
If you want a color beneath the paint rubbed off apply it now and allow to dry for 2-4 hours.
Using the candle on its side rub over the entire piece, paying special attention to the edges and corners, anywhere the piece may have been touched a lot ( around handles) areas where it would have naturally gotten distressed
Now paint the entire piece going over the wax with a second coat of paint, any color you like. Be sure to paint with the grain of the wood. Let dry thoroughly
Using steel wool rub the paint in the direction of the grain of the wood. Where there is wax underneath the paint will come off revealing either the bare wood or the color beneath. Avoid rubbing the steel wool against the grain as this will create an ugly scratch effect rather than a smooth distressed look.
If you wish you can repeat this process to make the piece look like it has been painted several times in different colors.
When completely finished wipe the entire piece with a tack cloth and protect the piece by varnishing.
